Triple-Band Gap Coupled 4 × 4 MIMO Antenna in mm-Wave for High Data Rate and IoT Applications

摘要

In this paper, a 4 × 4 MIMO antenna is reported with physical dimension of 16 × 12 × 0.25 mm3. The gap coupling techniques with slots embedded in ground plane is used to realize the multiband characteristics. The proposed antenna is operating in mm-wave with three resonance frequencies operating at 28.0, 38.0 and 40.68 GHz. The isolation values are found less than −20.67, −18.89 and −20.11 dB across three operating bands 27.43–28.41, 37.67–38.56 and 40.11–41.17 GHz, respectively. The realized gain and radiation efficiency for the proposed antenna are found to be above 4.56 dBi and 90.33%, respectively. The radiation patterns, ECC and DG are also investigated to verify the MIMO antenna performance and its applications in high data rate communication technology. In addition to that, bending effect is also studied to ensure the future on-body biomedical applications. The entire investigation is made using the finite integration technique-based CST Microwave studio simulation software.
