Smart Health Monitoring System for Elderly People
摘要
In our society, there is an accelerated population aging and an increasing number of individuals living alone, which has triggered great interest in developing solutions for elderly living assistance. The fast-growing technology, such as the Internet of Things, has brought significant changes in our lifestyle as well as the healthcare industry. Motivated by this rising need in society, an Internet of Things (IoT)-based Health Monitoring System (HMS) is proposed in this paper for elderly people living alone in urban areas. The proposed HMS system measures vital symptoms such as temperature, mobility of the person, and heart rate using sensory devices and saves the healthcare record on a Cloud Server for future reference by the doctor. The fall detection sensor is used thus if the health parameters of the person are disturbing and person fall down and could not get up in ten minutes, the alarm will get activated and an information message with location coordinates will be shared on he registered mobile numbers. The empirical results are presented to validate the efficacy of the proposed design.
