Future Perception and Opportunities for Sustainable Water Management in Developing Countries

Water is a crucial as well as non-renewable resource that is vital for our existence and proper management is necessary for its renewal. Currently, over 1.7 billion people reside in areas where water usage exceeds the natural replenishment rate, and by 2025, two-thirds of the global population will live in countries facing water stress (Cosgrove and Loucks, Water Resour Res 51:4823–4839, 2015).
