Using Geochemical Assessments for Basin-Wide Monitoring of Groundwater Quality and Quantity: Case of Omaruru–Swakop Basin
摘要
“Groundwater quality and availability is mostly influenced by the rocks and other materials it passes through from the point of recharge to discharge. When water flows through the geological formation, there are several processes that take place which is responsible for exchange of soluble solids between the rocks and water” (Elango and Kannan 2007). This chapter aims to address the lack of sufficient rock–water interaction data needed to understand the monitoringMonitoring of quality as well as quantifying the sustainable groundwater resources.
