Vehicle Registration Using Blockchain and JSON Web Token for Authentication on RESTful Web Service from India Perspective

摘要

Blockchain technology is gaining importance because of its immutable distributed ledger and secure behavior. But still many industry applications are based on centralized servers which are risk-oriented. Meanwhile, maintaining vehicle registration records on pen and paper is very time consuming, and it also results in bribes (approaching brokers) to execute their work on priority. The data of vehicle registration in India is saved on the centralized server which may result in a single point of failure, data loss, and is also prone to unauthorized access by the users. This paper proposes an approach based on blockchain technology on distributed ledger and creates a web service which uses JSON Web Token to authenticate the users on the application and will allow only when the token gets authenticated. This system will assure no third parties involvement, no unauthorized user access, transparency, and increasing speed of registrations. Rest API’s are used which will interact with the web service, authenticate the user first, and then allow the user to access the blockchain.
