Verifiable Secret Sharing Scheme for Audio Security

Audio files are one of the main multimedia forms that are increasingly used for communication nowadays. This includes music files which require to be stored securely or sensitive information which may be critical evidence of cyber crimes. In this paper, we propose a framework for audio security in which the audio bit streams are embedded within images. The proposed method is an XOR-based visual cryptography scheme (VCS) for general access structures, in which audio secrets are embedded in binary cover images. This scheme is implemented using the concept of step construction. A reversible scheme that uses, palette images as cover images to embed the audio secret bit stream is also discussed in this paper. The above proposed audio security approaches provide support for tamper detection also. The proposed VCS methods of audio security using visual cryptography are analyzed in detail and compared with the existing approach.
