The Challenge of Habituation: An Experiment in Keihanna Science City
摘要
This chapter reports on the case of the Keihanna Science City experiment. We investigate the effects of both extrinsic and intrinsic motivation, i.e., dynamic pricing with three different price levels and a request to save electricity. The peak cut effects of the energy saving request were 3% on average. We observed habituation, whereby the effects diminished over time.
