Identification and Control of Bias in Medical Sciences Investigations

  • Hamid Soori

摘要

Identifying and controlling bias in medical sciences investigations is essential for producing high-quality research that can inform clinical practice and improve patient outcomes. It requires a combination of methodological rigor, transparency, and critical thinking throughout the research process. Bias refers to any systematic error in the design, conduct, analysis, or reporting of a study that can affect the validity, reliability, and generalizability of the findings. Biases can be introduced at any stage of the research process and can arise from various sources. To identify and control bias in medical sciences investigations, researchers must use rigorous study designs and methods that minimize the risk of bias. This includes using appropriate sampling strategies, blinding or masking study participants and investigators, controlling for confounders, using valid and reliable measurement tools, and conducting appropriate statistical analyses.
