Exercise exerts an antihypertensive effect in normotensive and hypertensive subjects, regardless of whether the exercise is performed in an upright or a supine position. At the time, postural changes produce alterations in hemodynamics which are disturbed by the force of gravity. Hence, characterizations of cardiovascular functions with various reflexes, vasoactive substances, and hormones during exercise and recovery are required for a basal understanding of the influence of postural difference on control of blood pressure.
