Rainfall Prediction Using Fuzzy Systems

Rainfall prediction is important because it is an influential meteorological parameter that can directly affect human life. Heavy or unpredicted rainfall can lead to many disasters like damaged infrastructure, loss of crops and livestock, and landslides, which disturb communication and transport systems and can threaten human life. That is why rainfall prediction is more significant in human life and can help us to take effective measures to overcome the losses of crops and property and also human life. Due to climate change and the dynamic nature of the atmosphere, it is a very complex task to predict rainfall with maximum accuracy using statistical techniques. In this manuscript, prediction was calculated using a fuzzy rule base system. For simulation, open-source software GUAJE is used and the simulation results are found to have acceptable accuracy and interpretability.
