Digestive System Diseases
摘要
The digestive system consists of two main parts: the digestive tract and the digestive glands. The digestive tract includes the oral cavity, pharynx, esophagus, stomach, small intestine (duodenum, jejunum, ileum), and large intestine (cecum, appendix, colon, rectum, anal canal). Four of the ten most serious malignancies in China are from the digestive system, including esophageal carcinoma, gastric carcinoma, liver carcinoma, and colorectal carcinoma. Inflammation of the digestive system is also common, such as appendicitis, cholecystitis, cholelithiasis, and acute pancreatitis. This chapter will discuss diseases of the gastrointestinal tract, the liver and biliary tract, and the pancreas.
