Application of Artificial Intelligence in Central Nervous System Imaging

There are a wide range and various types of central nervous system (CNS) diseases, which have the characteristics of complex pathophysiological mechanisms and high disability and mortality rates, seriously threatening human health and social development. In recent years, AI technology, represented by deep learning, has rapidly developed and shown great potential in improving clinical diagnosis and therapeutic efficiency and promoting personalized precision medicine. In the field of CNS imaging, AI technology has also been widely studied and applied, covering various aspects, such as disease diagnosis, efficacy evaluation, prognosis prediction, and entire clinical workflow improvement. AI technology has been deeply applied and developed in clinical diagnosis and treatment. At present, the NMPA has approved several AI systems for the clinical diagnosis and treatment of CNS diseases, such as assisted triage of intracranial haemorrhage and intracranial tumour-assisted diagnosis.
