Erosion Calculation in Francis Turbine

摘要

The rotating runner of a Francis turbine is chosen as a reference case for this chapter. The software used for the CFD calculations is OpenFOAM-8 (v8), but other versions can also be chosen. The solver adopted for steady calculation of erosion is a revised one by incorporating discrete phase model (DPM) into SRFSimpleFoam. The steady calculation is conducted in two stages: one is operated with clear water, and the other is operated with both particles and water. The main aim of this chapter is to present a way to calculate erosion and how to make a new solver step by step, where the main settings and codes are also shown.
