Shape of the Runner Blades

This chapter focuses on providing a hydraulic shape of the runner blades. The methods used in this chapter are typically suitable for high head type of Francis turbines, where D1 > D2. At first, the axial view of the blade is constructed, followed by the radial view. Blade surfaces are created, which is useful for conducting CFD analysis, as well as generating a 3D model for fabrication.
