摘要

Stem cell therapy has become one of the most advanced technologies in the field of regenerative medicine and has attracted considerable attention worldwide. Recent studies have revealed that stem cells exert their functions mainly through paracrine mechanisms, including extracellular vesicles (EVs). EVs are small lipid bilayer particles that encapsulate lipids, RNAs, DNAs, and proteins and participate in cell communication. The functions of stem cell-derived EVs have been explored in various diseases, including cardiovascular diseases, neurological diseases, and endocrine system disorders, and these EVs have been shown to have therapeutic effects similar to those of their parental stem cells. Furthermore, stem cell-derived EVs show excellent antiaging effects and are effective therapeutic agents in many age-related degenerative disorders. Therefore, EV therapy is a promising alternative to stem cell therapies.
