Next Generation Technical Interview Process Automation with Multi-level Interactive Chatbot Based on Intelligent Techniques

Automated the demand for automated interview systems is high due to the time and cost involved in traditional interview processes. In the field of software engineering, automating technical interviews provides convenience for assessing candidates’ technical competency during recruitment. This study proposes three key modules for an automated selection process in information technology organizations: a technology-oriented resume analysis module, an intelligent interview Chatbot, and a self-confidence level analysis module. The Chatbot conducts open-ended interviews, offering a novel approach to technical discussions. The resume analysis module evaluates candidates’ technology competency based on indicated skills. The self-confidence level analysis module analyzes candidates’ facial expressions and confidence levels through video and audio features, respectively. Each module is assigned a separate score, and a weighted average score is calculated as the final score. This novel approach addresses drawbacks identified in existing literature, enhancing the automated technical interview process. The study provides technical and empirical evidence supporting the potential of maximizing automated technical interviews.
