“Green Business” in Europe: Modern Reforms and Governance

摘要

Business and corporate activities are the most vital parts of national growth strategies in European countries; businesses play an important role in transferring growth towards sustainably oriented paths. Recent European Union’s extensive efforts and reforms in facilitating “green business” shall be adequately visualized as the EU’s governance means in assisting the member states’ resilience programmes and “green growth”. Present massive reforms are also aimed at turning corporate activity along sustainable paths, accelerating the EU states progress in implementing sustainable development goals, SDGs. The article provides a concise toolkit of knowledge and insights into new EU’s reforms concerning “green” aspects in growth models and businesses by identifying emerging opportunities in financial support for entrepreneurship, by adaptation to dynamic changes through the “green deal”, and securing lasting success in the evolving “green entrepreneurship”. The article also shows existing best practices in green business and reveals the role of “social enterprises” as examples of existing reforms’ viability. The paper presents a first of its kind attempt in academic and scientific literature to evaluate modern European socio-economic governance and reforms in implementing resilience’s strategies coped with sustainably oriented corporate activity.
