Do Incubation at Educational Intuition Stimulates Students Entrepreneurial Competency and Paves the Way to the Innovative Enterprise—An Exploratory Research

The objective of the research was to investigate the incubation centres impact on entrepreneurial competency and entrepreneurship of the students pursuing at educational institutions. For the research, the descriptive research design was adopted. For the research, the data were collected from Students undergoing graduation and post-graduation course in educational institutions. 13 educational institutions with incubation centres were identified and from which 427 students who have visited incubations centres frequently in their educational institution were considered as samples using a simple random sampling technique. From the analysis and interpretation, it was understood that despite their difference in demography there is no significant difference in opinion among the students for the Impact of Incubation Centre on Entrepreneurial Competency and Entrepreneurship. The students state that visiting incubation centres generate new ideas for existing business to students; further, it was found that visiting incubation centre is inculcating a thought of being an entrepreneur rather than a job seeker. Also incubation centres are providing indirect mentoring for Start-Up; furthermore, the incubation centres in educational institutions are stimulating students to be an entrepreneur and incubation centres are providing an opportunity for networking to students. It was interpreted that the presence of incubation in the educational institution is found to increase the entrepreneurial competency of the students. Further, it was found that the incubation centre has a significant influence on entrepreneurial competency and entrepreneurship (Business Enterprise Start-Up). Overall, it was found that the presence of the incubation centre increases entrepreneurial competency. The entrepreneurial competency in return leads to Business Enterprise Start-Up.
