Musculoskeletal Risks Assessment in Bus Body’s Roof Stick Manufacturing

  • Mangesh Joshi

摘要

In any industry, musculoskeletal risks are a common and can be detrimental to productivity and worker attendance. Building bus bodies involves a range of tasks with varying levels of physical exertion. The manufacture of roof sticks, in particular, requires different levels of human energy, making it important to assess ergonomics. This study aimed to identify risk factors associated with various work activities like marking, rolling, bending, cutting, hammering, drilling, and storage. Risks are analyzed by OWAS, REBA, and RULA methods. The study found significant differences between the results obtained from these three methods with varying degrees of risk to the musculoskeletal system. The development of appropriate workstations that consider workers’ anthropometry can help reduce the risk of WMSDs.
