Sustainable Waste Management: An Analysis of Current Practices and Future Prospects

The population of India has peaked to a global high. Rapid urbanization is causing increased production of new materials. Having an impact on the health of the society and ecosystem, the need for proper waste treatment and management has always been an area of critical attention. The paper presents a new approach toward understanding waste and solving the critical problems of waste management in a different way. General understanding and misconceptions about waste, important concepts like ground-level organic waste processing, the new recycling trend, problems of waste accumulations, waste segregation, and their potential solutions are discussed in the paper.
