Repeating Mark

Dunhuang Lecture|Philology of Dunhuang Manuscripts. In the repeated use of words, phrases and sentences, ellipsis is used to indicate the repeated parts. Qiu Xigui called it repeating mark. It is also known as reduplication mark. In Dunhuang manuscripts, scribes often used repeating mark when encountering repeated characters, phrases and sentences. Some basic shapes of repeating mark in Dunhuang manuscripts are as follows (where one or two examples of manuscripts are given).
