Redundancy and Deletion of Redundancy Dunhuang Lecture|Philology of Dunhuang Manuscripts
摘要
Redundancy(衍文), also known as “xian wen”(羡文) in Chinese, refers to the words added by mistake in the process of popularizing ancient books. This chapter discusses the causes for the redundancy in Dunhuang manuscripts and the method of deleting the redundancy used by copiers and transcribers.
