摘要

It is well known that the density is the basic character of a substance. Density measurement is an important characterization method for both static and dynamic analysis and for inferences of chemical composition in specific experiments. For example, the density of polymers depends not only on their chemical composition, but also on how the chains are arranged in space (i.e. crystalline or amorphous arrangements). Therefore, the minute difference in density can be used to analyze polymers with similar atomic compositions. For certain classes of polymers (formed by polymerization of small monomers, such as acrylic esters or other vinyl monomers), the kinetics of the polymerizations can be monitored through the measurement of the change in density associated with polymerization.
