Improvisation in Human–Robot Interaction Using Optimized Multimodal Operational Techniques

Industry 4.0 fosters the use of cyber-physical systems which aims at combining the efforts from humans, robots with cutting-edge technologies to enhance productivity in industrial setting. Human–robot interaction (HRI) supports this aim by combining the skills of human and robot. This paper presents the HRI in industrial scenario. Utilizing a multimodal operational strategy can improve flexibility and dependability and provide several options for user interaction to better suit their demands. Review of different multimodal techniques is also presented in this paper. Each input method has benefits and drawbacks of its own. This paper also highlights the way to overcome these limitations.
