Data Intelligence-Driven Prevention and Control of COVID-19

China has entered a period of ongoing COVID-19 prevention and control. However, imported cases, domestic resurgence and frequent mutations still place intense pressure on the country’s COVID-19 prevention and control system. This paper introduces the wide application of data intelligence in the prevention and control of COVID-19, illustrating how data intelligence has contributed to efficient, targeted and scientific COVID-19 prevention and control, including early detection and warning systems, source control, transmission chain disruption and protection for vulnerable populations. This paper provides an insightful analysis of the shortcomings in the application of data intelligence and offers an approach to building a data intelligence-driven COVID-19 prevention and control platform and using data intelligence to enhance the capabilities of public health emergency response systems.
