Practice of Big Data Knowledge Service in Engineering Sciences and Technology—Construction and Application of CKCEST

摘要

China Knowledge Center for Engineering Sciences and Technology (CKCEST) aims to give full play to the advantages of the Chinese Academy of Engineering (CAE) in discipline distribution and its demonstration and leading role in engineering sciences and technology, establish a collaborative innovation system for knowledge services, implement big data strategies, and serve the development of engineering sciences and technology. CKCEST is mainly designed for two types of users, i.e., personnel of think tanks, engineering and technical personnel. Focusing on data resources of different types from multiple sources and different disciplines in the field of engineering sciences and technology, it has formed a collaborative innovation system of knowledge services together with leading information technology enterprises and authoritative data service agencies, created an interdisciplinary knowledge service cooperation mechanism through technological innovation, knowledge innovation and service innovation, and formulated standards and specifications for knowledge services in the field of engineering sciences and technology. Besides, it has launched national big data applications and knowledge engineering projects, established a high-level think tank support and knowledge service system, cultivated large international and domestic user groups, and made remarkable achievements. Based on CKCEST’s construction process in the past nine years, this paper systematically analyzes the construction background and significance, implementation framework and achievements, and future prospects of operation and direction.
