Biovalorization of Garlic Waste to Produce High Value-Added Products

Due to increasing environmental concerns and strict laws about solid biological wastes from industries, it becomes critical to create strategies to reuse these wastes by transforming them for usage in other processes/industries. Information in the literature about the use of garlic waste as a bioresource is scarce. This chapter summarizes the physicochemical and biological characterization of garlic by-products and provides the usage of garlic waste under specific topics: feed alimentation, soil amendment, bioenergy, adsorbent for pollutants, and value-added products.
