Crack Recovery During Creep Fracture

Fatigue failure under cyclic static loading and unloading (i.e., cyclic/fatigue creep failure) in brittle rocks has a great significance for the evaluation of lifetime in underground engineering. The visco-elastic rebound strain is an important mechanical phenomenon of brittle rocks during the unloading. However, the unloading-induced plastic rebound is rarely studied.
