摘要

Transdermal volatile organic compounds (VOCs) that are contained in the blood reflect the biochemical states of the body, which are one of the promising measurement targets for unconscious and continuous monitoring of our health status. To realize the measurement of transdermal VOCs by wearable devices, it will be important to understand the mutual relationship between skin characteristics and VOC emission characteristics at different locations on the body. If we can find body sites where transcutaneous VOCs can be easily measured, the feasibility of wearable measurements will increase. In this chapter, we describe a gas imaging system and its elemental technologies that enable imaging measurements and finding optimal sites for transdermal VOC measurement based on the two-dimensional distribution of transdermal VOCs.
