AgriChain: Blockchain-Enabled Food Traceability
摘要
The agricultural industry has encountered challenges in maintaining transparency and traceability within the supply chain. To address these challenges, a blockchain-based system has been developed to provide accessible and validated data to mobile users, benefiting both consumers and producers. The proposed system aims to track the production and distribution of food goods from farms to retail establishments, enabling consumers to access information about the food’s origin and production by scanning QR codes on the products. By implementing blockchain technology, the system ensures secure and transparent tracking of food production and distribution, with the goal of enhancing food safety, reducing waste, and promoting sustainability. The initiative directly targets the food value chain, improving its effectiveness, transparency, and sustainability through accurate product tracking. Additionally, the system educates consumers about the environmental impacts of the food choices, encouraging more sustainable consumption practices. Overall, this initiative has the potential to promote a more sustainable and efficient food system by enhancing sustainable food production, educating consumers, and reducing waste.
