Nature-Inspired Computing for Wireless Sensor Network

Wireless sensor networks are an emerging technology for low-cost monitoring of a wide range of environments, consisting of a collection of a large number of sensor nodes and at least one base station. A wireless sensor network is a set of many sensor nodes and at least one base station. A sensor node is a tiny independent instrument, which mainly consists of four units: sensor, processing, communication, and power supply. These sensors are used to gather data from the environment and transmit it to the base station. Accordingly, there are various challenges in WSN such as deployment, design constraints, energy limitation, limited bandwidth, node costs, and security. Therefore, they need methods to overcome the challenges. One of the newest methods is the use of innovative techniques inspired by nature. Therefore, in this book, we explore some innovative techniques inspired by nature to solve wireless network challenges.
