Review of Probability Theory
摘要
Every day, we face evets whose outcome cannot be predicted using physical rules or prior knowledge. The outcome of these events appears to be random. Humanity has grappled with how to predict these outcomes since the beginning of history. Probability theory was developed to characterize random phenomena. This chapter provides a brief review of probability theory. The material in this chapter should be familiar to the reader who has completed a course on probability and statistics.
