Geriatric Neurocritical Care

One of the most significant concerns of the twenty-first century is providing care for the aging population. An important component of medical care delivery for the elderly is the provision of critical care services. A combination of age, function, and social definitions is essential to define the aged population accurately. The global population demographics have transformed with economic development. Death rates have declined, and birth rates have steadily increased over the last 200 years. Termed as ‘baby boom,’ this has resulted in an imbalance, as a result of which, the global senior population will surpass the global youth population by 2050 for the first time in history [1].
