Fever in Neurocritical Care
摘要
Fever is not uncommon in neuro critical care units. While the aetiology could be broadly classified into infectious and non-infectious causes, often the margins are obscured and difficult to differentiate. The infectious causes are well known and active diagnosis and treatment are usually in order. The non-infectious causes of fever in the neuro-intensive care unit are the ones more difficult to understand, find and treat. This review aims to articulate an aetiological approach to fever and its pathophysiology in the neuro-intensive care unit.
