Antipsychotic Drugs
摘要
In the intensive care unit, antipsychotics are frequently used to treat patients’ delirium, agitation, and other behavioral problems. By lowering the probability of negative events like self-extubation and eliminating the necessity for physical restrictions, the use of antipsychotics in the ICU can enhance patient outcomes. However, due to the possibility of side effects, such as hypotension, arrhythmias, and respiratory depression, the use of antipsychotics in the ICU requires careful evaluation. In order to ensure the safe and successful administration of these drugs to critically ill patients, this review seeks to give a thorough overview of the use of antipsychotics in the ICU, including the indications, dose, side effects, and monitoring measures.
