Antibiotic Drugs

Antibiotics form the cornerstone of treating bacterial infections, and appropriate early institution of antibiotics can save lives. Neurocritical care patients are at highest risk of developing healthcare-associated infections [1] and pose a significant challenge for diagnosing and treating them. This chapter details pharmacological principles, methods, and means of antibiotic therapy used to treat community-acquired and hospital-acquired infections and their associated challenges.
