Stability and Bifurcation Analysis of a Composite Laminated Cantilever Rectangular Plate System

In this paper, we study the bifurcation behavior and the stability of the composite laminated cantilever rectangular plate that is subjected to a temperature field and a transversal excitation. By analyzing the corresponding characteristic equation, we discuss the local stability of the degenerated equilibrium of the nonlinear system and obtain its steady-state solution and stability region by using the center manifold theory. Then we consider the condition under which Hopf bifurcation may occur. Finally, numerical simulations are depicted to verify the dynamical behaviors of the composite laminated cantilever rectangular plate.
