Research on the Intelligent Control System of Aerial Robots

Intelligent aerial robots, featuring high stability, flexibility and adaptability, have a promising future in their wide applications in military and civilian fields, as automation, information technology and unmanned technology is booming. However, the current closed-source flight controllers fail to gain the underlying control, and thus the self-developed control algorithms cannot be verified; while the study of open-source flight controllers requires impossibly large effort due to the huge code architecture and may have many redundant functions. Therefore, to develop an intelligent flight control system independently becomes an important research topic. A whole process composing of mathematical model building, control law design and simulation experiment verification was completed in this paper, based on cascade control. The tests proved that the designed flight control system is highly accurate and stable with favorable dynamic performance, and is useful for the engineering application of UAV flight.
