摘要

Can Gio is a suburban coastal district located in southeast of Ho Chi Minh City (HCMC). Climate change has affected the Can Gio district in recent years, with low-lying terrain and average elevation from 0 to 1.5 m above sea level. That is the loss of residential land and arable land in some coastal areas, along rivers and canals, causing unwanted migration of people. In addition, the emergence of the Covid-19 epidemic has caused a double negative impact on people’s lives and economic activities. This study aims to understand and propose a model of floating houses and green farms that can adapt to climate change and epidemics in rural coastal areas (RCA) in Can Gio district. The content of the article includes assessing the impact of climate change on RCA houses in Can Gio, thereby proposing solutions to adapt to climate change and epidemic diseases by the model of floating houses and green farming in the RCA of Can Gio district. Solutions include raised floors, floating floor designs, and applications that combine VAC and Aquaponics (vertical farming). The applied research methods are analyzing and synthesizing data, observing with recording images—drawings, and modeling-simulation. The research results will ensure the self-service ability of people when epidemics occur and, at the same time, improve the adaptability to climate change for RCA houses in Can Gio district, HCMC.
