International relations and security dynamics are increasingly influenced by international migration, as the majority of international migration is the consequence of regional economic expansion, political instability, and demographic shifts. This has significant implications for regional, global, and diplomatic security and relations. Migration patterns are influenced by economic inequality, conflict, environmental pressures, and labor market dynamics, creating a complex environment of opportunities and challenges for Asian states. Migration can stimulate economic growth, but it also poses security risks in the form of irregular migration, human trafficking, and the possibility of social tensions. The study highlights the need for a comprehensive policy approach to resolving the multifaceted challenges of international migration in Asia, including both security measures to combat irregular migration and human trafficking as well as human rights-based policies that promote social cohesion and sustainable economic growth. Migration’s transnational nature necessitates bilateral and regional cooperation, as well as diplomatic efforts to resolve conflicts and promote stability in countries of origin. This chapter emphasizes the intricate interplay between international migration, international relations, and security in Asia, as well as the need for multilateral and balanced policies to ensure regional stability, economic development, and the protection of human rights.
