This paper provides a comprehensive review of the security issues and socioeconomic and cultural consequences of cross-border migration related to the Rohingya crisis in Bangladesh. Since 2017, the arrival of more than one million Rohingya refugees has created unparalleled challenges for Bangladesh, impacting its national security, socioeconomic stability, and regional relationships. The review integrates academic research, policy documents, and case studies to investigate the various effects of the crisis, such as resource strain, community conflicts, and the potential for radicalization. It analyzes how the crisis overlaps border security, international relations, and human rights issues. The results indicate that although Bangladesh has demonstrated remarkable humanitarian efforts, the prolonged nature of the crisis has revealed deficiencies in governance and regional collaboration. The paper underscores the necessity for sustainable policy solutions and a strong regional framework, highlighting the importance of increased international support in tackling the intricate relationship between security and societal factors in managing cross-border migration. This study adds to the conversation about forced migration, stressing the global obligation to reconcile humanitarian values with national security needs.
