South and Southeast Asia are characterized by some of the world’s largest migration flows, presenting a complex landscape for migration governance. This chapter examines the multifaceted challenges associated with labor migration, displacement due to environmental and political crises, and irregular migration within the region. Focusing on regional organizations such as the South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC) and others, the chapter examines their impact on migration governance and the interplay between regional and national policies. By identifying opportunities for enhanced collaboration, the chapter proposes actionable recommendations designed to strengthen migration governance frameworks across South and Southeast Asia.
