摘要

This chapter looks at the complex factors that influence Afghan refugees’ decisions to migrate. Focusing on the particular challenges faced by registered refugees, cardholders, and unregistered residents in Pakistan, this research aims to uncover the human stories behind these migration decisions. By examining macro-, meso-, and micro-level influences, such as legal protection, economic instability, social networks, and personal aspirations, the chapter provides a holistic perspective on migration dynamics. It also examines the role of information campaigns on migration and the ethical implications of including returnees in these efforts. The findings contribute to the discourse on migration governance and highlight the need for effective measures and interventions to support Afghan nationals in Pakistan.
