Power Balancing in Four-Wheel Drive EV Using Carrier-Based PWM with Two-Level Inverter Fed Drive

Electric vehicles have become more prominent in recent years since it is considered for a lot of advantages way more than traditional fuel vehicles. One of the essential characteristics of electric vehicle is the battery management system (BMS) which must be given more importance than other coordinating systems. Power balancing and maintaining uniform SOC (state of charge) is very crucial in the BMS. Numerous techniques have been established in recent years in order to control the above-mentioned attributes. This paper presents the experimental analysis of power balancing using carrier-based pulse width modulation (CD-PWM) technique and depicts the results obtained from the same from both the hardware and simulation processes.
