A GPS Based Bus Tracking and Unreserved Ticketing System Using QR Based Verification and Validation

Every metropolitan city has buses and trains for its urban transportation. Currently, our nation is undergoing a transformation towards a Digital India, the payments are being digitized. Railways have the application of e-ticketing system for both reserved and unreserved tickets. But RTC (Road Transport Corporation) has an e-ticketing system for reserving travel only and not for unreserved. To make it more convenient, this research study has built a new model called “U-Bus”, a mobile application with two modules, U-Bus for passengers and U-Bus conductors for conductors. The module U-Bus for passengers is scheduled to have an online QR system for ticket booking through digital payments, tracking the buses on the way. The module U-Bus conductors for conductors is planned to have a QR scanner which verifies the ticket, a system that manages the crowd through crowd density estimation, location of the bus schedule of the bus, and time to reach the destination from the source. It makes buying tickets easy.
