摘要

Optical applications have been and remain a huge motivation for metal halide perovskite research, given the ease of fabrication as well as bandgap tenability through structural as well as chemical alterations. This chapter focuses on applications involving optical absorption, namely photovoltaics and optical detectors. The 2D MHPs exhibit certain advantages over 2D MHPs in their stability and tunability, but the higher exciton binding energy makes it more difficult to separate the photoexcited electrons and holes. Several papers are presented which explore various methods for taking advantage of the strengths of 2D materials while minimizing their weaknesses.
