Analysis and Control of Dual Active Bridge Converter for Vehicle to Load Application in Electric Vehicle
摘要
In electric vehicle (EV), efficient power converters play a vital role for the optimal use of stored energy of battery pack on a large scale. Vehicle-to-load (V2L) technology is a significant contributor to energy consumption in EV batteries. This paper presents a novel configuration for transferring electrical energy from an EV to a load using a single-phase bidirectional DC-DC converter. The proposed system utilizes both a dual active bridge converter (DAB) and a DC-AC converter (H-Bridge) to efficiently manage power flow. DAB has some advantages over other present converters in terms of power density, simple control techniques, broad range of output voltages while maintaining good dynamic performance, and in terms of cost and size also. In this topology, EVs battery pack voltage of 800 V is used for 1.6 kW AC load. A PI controller is used to control the output voltage of dual active bridge converter and d-q-controlled H-bridge inverter to get sinusoidal AC output. This operation is verified by using MATLAB simulation waveforms for the load that can be observed in result section. The results demonstrate the achievability and potency of the proposed configuration for EV energy management.
