摘要

The energy requirements of domestic and industrial needs are met not only by generation of energy but by optimization utility of energy, energy conservation, performance of energy systems and so on. However the performance of emerging technologies like internet of things, robotics, automation which involves wireless sensor nodes, strongly rely on the energy source of the devices. The batteries which are commonly used as energy sources are limited in capacity, low in efficiency and limited life span, undermine the effective implementation of the systems. The harvesting of energy which is unused can reduce stress on energy generation unit. The energy harvesting from the ambient propagating electromagnetic signals can meet the low power requirements of the sensor nodes and wireless charging devices. The study presents the design and realization of RF energy harvesting system to power up low power devices for IoT applications. The RF signals are omni present in various frequencies and energy levels. The ambience RF radiation and wifi signals at 2.45 GHz over wireless local area network is captured by microstrip patch antenna followed by RF to DC convertion to obtain DC energy for real time charging of wireless devices or for storable DC energy.
