Climate Emergency in the Philippines: Sectoral Impacts, Local Experiences, and Multidisciplinary Responses

This chapter provides an overview of the climate emergency as a global movement and as a local reality in the Philippines. Citing the different sections of the book, it discusses how the changing climate drastically impacts multiple sectors in different geographical settings. It also lays down the imperative for urgent action, drawing from the multi-disciplinary responses discussed in the volume. It underscores the need to treat the climate emergency as an ongoing crisis that requires a whole-of-government and whole-of-society intervention at the policy and governance levels.
