摘要

This entry explores the relationship between new populism and its effect on youth mental health, highlighting how polarized ideologies contribute to ambiguity, dread, and disempowerment among young people. The emphasis on “us” versus “them” and the demonization of certain groups foster social division and polarization, leading to adverse psychological outcomes such as wrath, anxiety, and hopelessness. The only way to solve these problems is to implement mental health support strategies like awareness campaigns and institutionalize mental health education. Promoting resilience and empowerment through open dialogue and civic participation enables young people to confront divisive influences and shape a more inclusive society.
